The Guest Tipster: 16th Jul

Updated: Jul 16, 2022

We have a returning guest tipster this weekend in Twitters NewSherriffInTown Tipping (@NSIT_Tipster) who you can also follow daily over on OLBG @NewSherrifInTown

Let's take a look at what he fancies for today

Newmarket 2:21

Reshoun 6/1

1pt win

Previous winner of this race in 2020 under Jim Crowley on good ground - which will be the minimum ground conditions for this contest. Ran with much credit when edged out twice at Royal Ascot, firstly to the impressive Coltrane by 3 lengths and then had the Queen Alexandra Stakes stolen from him by Stratum in the dying strides. Both efforts were on good to firm conditions and he sits only 1lb off highest mark. I don't see the calibre of opposition for this race close to what Reshoun has been competing with recently. Looks good for win purposes

Newmarket 2:51Fast Medicine 8/1 1pt win

Clocked up an impressive time when obliterating the field by 6 lengths at Nottingham - finishing ahead of Cliffcake who subsequently went on to win next time out. Previously edged out by Arqoob by 3 lengths who went on to land a valuable class 2 handicap at Sandown recently. A line can be put through last run which maybe came too soon from Nottingham run. Trainer has only had 1 runner the past 2 weeks - which resulted in a 12/1 winner. Rab Havlin is operating at a 25% strike rate of late. Ground conditions look set to suit. Looks overpriced at 8/1

Newmarket 3:22

Viola 11/2

2pt win (NB)

Viola was boxed in on last run but still managed to only finish a length off winner Sea La Rosa (has finished less than a length to that rival on 3 occasions) who then went on to finish runner up to the eye catching Free Wind. Daniel Muscutt has been operating at 17% strike rate this season and will be looking to celebrate his birthday weekend with a winner. If Viola can get a clear run this time round I think she will have a strong chance of landing spoils for this class 1 contest. NB

Cartmel 3:34

Glan Y Gors 13/2 2pt win (NAP)

Course form at Cartmel is key and Glan Y Gors has proven a liking for this track with a win over this C&D in August 2020 and has finished 2nd on last run and a 2 lengths 4th on penultimate run. Was only 2 lengths off current favourite Post No Bills when they last met here, however that was over 2m5f and this is a 4f drop. The current favourite only effort at 2m was a disappointing 18 length defeat 6th. Glan Y Gors will be much suited to this shorter trip as he has largely been campaigned on the flat. Getting on in years now but definitely capable of a win at this grade under the talented Tabitha Worsley. NAP

Curragh 3:45

Emily Dickenson 13/2 1pt win

This contest has been blown wide open by the withdrawal of Emily Upjohn - support seems to have went for Toy however that fillies recent run at Chantilly can't be forgotten when trying to select a winner for this race. Emily Dickenson last 2 turf runs have been very impressive - both have had thundering finishes yielding 1 win and a close runner up effort to the 6 wins from 7 Roscarberry. If Seamie Heffernan can keep this fillie close enough to the front end and deliver that turn of foot from last 2 turf runs - it's hard to see better value in this race than this selection

Want to have a daily platform to post your tips? Then why not come and join us as a daily racing tipster (Monday to Friday). We also have regular guest tipsters if you wanted to join us without the full time commitment and spots are usually open for a Saturday on both the football and the racing

Our fully developed site is ready to go so there is no setup from you required, you will simply become a member of our team as a contributor and have a daily post which you will be able to update with your own daily punts which will then be visible for everyone to see online.

Our site is 100% free with no sign up required so to view your tips, people will simply need to go to our website. We will also create a custom link for you which you can then share on your own social media channels

Why are we doing this I hear you ask, the answer is actually a simple one. We have a fully functioning website but little content through the week. This means the weekly traffic is very low but it costs us the same regardless. We do also benefit, to be totally open & transparent, as this will help drive more traffic to the site for when we do all our weekend features too (which you would also be invited to join)

So if this sounds of interest & you’d like to become part of The Cheeky Punts team, helping us grow and offer the best free site around, the drop us a line via our social media channels or you contact us via email on thecheekypunts@gmail.com

Thanks

Phil & The Cheeky Punts Team
