How the betting looks

The Verdict

This week we are focusing on the all weather as we look away from the jumps cards. The all weather can be great fun and proves a welcome place for those who prefer their racing on the flat all year round and there are usually some nice prices to be had too. Personally I do like to follow the all weather and this Saturday we have the action from Lingfield. One thing that can be key on the a/w is the draw, in most cases a low draw is beneficial as you don't want your horse coming round too many and being forced wide on the bend (effectively running further than those on the inside) In the shorter races, a fast start (the 'break') can also be key and generally speaking those who run up with the pace are better suited. It can get quite congested in some of these races so you don't want to find yourself boxed in or caught behind another when trying to make your move although there are some hold up horses that can time this to perfection

So lets have a look at this weeks, El Caballo and Witch Hunter are the 2 that head the market and both come in to this in good form. El Caballo looks the pick to me and had the opposing Canonized behind him last time out at Newcastle, on the pure form line Witch Hunter was beaten by Canonized but that was on the turf, he is actually 1 from 1 on the all weather having won at Wolverhampton last time out. On paper, it certainly looks a shootout between the top 3 here

Of the rest, Anthem National has the impressive Jack Mitchell onboard and got off the mark last time winning at Newcastle but this does look a tougher ask and another winner LTO was Chrysos. Richard Kingscote takes the ride on this and he is a jockey I rate on the a/w so he cant be discounted but the undoubted Queen of the all weather is Hollie Doyle and she rides Amber Dew here. This does look a tough ask though but a 2nd LTO at a big price showed some signs of improvement

So it looks like the top 3 in the market should fight this out and I would lean towards the fav El Caballo but as the each way shot I'd be having a small cheeky punt on Chrysos at the 11/1

Good Luck
