How the betting looks

The Verdict
As the name suggests this is billed as a trial for the 2000 Guineas although I'm not sure many of these will feature in the British classic in May. Dr Zempf heads the market and does hold an entry in the Irish version (run at the Curragh in May) along with a number of the others here but its the favourite here where most eyes will be on. He heads the betting in a market where we have 3 runners for the mighty Ballydoyle team who are headed with Glounthaune. After a solid second in a G1 for Dr Zempf that looks the pick of the form but his last run suggests he doesn't want the going to be too fast, so this should be to his liking.
Back to Glounthaune and he landed a G3 here and had The Acropolis back in 5th. New Energy and Howth were both also well beaten that day so he very much looks the obvious pick of O'Brien runners. A word of caution though, the so called 2nd or even 3rd string can never be ruled out! The Acropolis and Howth could well reverse that for the wiley O'Brien
McTigue represent last years winning trainer Jim Bolger and has won over a mile so has a chance here and looks a lively contender for a place spot at least and at a bigger price Exquisite Acclaim could have an each way shot although this does represent a step up in class.
The winner of this will likely go on to contest in better company and it's hard to see past the favourite here. He will be looking for a strong performance to setup a tilt at the main event but good luck if you are having a punt on a decent looking card from Ireland for the flat fans
Good Luck
