The Hot Picks: 12th Nov

Updated: Nov 12, 2022

After a few absolutely shocking weeks on the hotpicks, today we have drafted in our own cheeky girl Rachel for this weeks picks

Arsenal are sitting top of the PL table and a win against hosts Wolves, tonight, could see them head in to 2023 in a very favourable position. Meanwhile, at the other end of the table Wolves will also be looking to secure three points to take a small step closer to safety.

In their current form, this should be an easy win for Arsenal as represented in the stats. Arsenal are joint top, with Newcastle, for least goals conceded this season. The Gunners just take the accolade though having conceded 11 goals in 13 matches compared to the Magpies' 11 goals in 14 matches. Only Man City and "Hat-Trick Haaland" have a better goals-for tally than the North London side.

Arsenal have converted 31 goals in 13 games compared to Wolves' 8 scored and 22 conceded in 14 games. Arsenal have averaged 2.3 goals scored, per match, this campaign vs Wolves 0.57. The Gunners have a better defensive record too, conceding an average of 0.84 to Wolves' 1.57.

Wolves have been wasteful in front of goal this campaign whilst Arsenal are impressing across the pitch, so I would tentatively back Arsenal to win to nil. For a short price Arsenal to win should be a safe bet.

Bottom of the Bundesliga Shalke 04 host German heavyweights Bayern Munich at 1430. Bayern, rightly so, are heavy favourites heading in to this meeting and there will likely be value to be had in goals.

Bayern are on a winning run at the moment and have scored a staggering 22 goals in their last 5 fixtures, averaging 4.4 goals per match. Schalke, meanwhile, are shipping an average of 2.14 goals per game and have given away a penalty in three of their seven home games this season. To add to their woes, Schalke have lost four of their last five matches and have conceded over 2.5 goals in 43% of their home matches.

For just shy of evens Bayern to win and over 3.5 goals looks a good bet. At a touch over evens I'd back Bayern to win both halves or, alternatively, at slightly longer odds Bayern to win to nil.

Napoli are currently front runners to claim the scudetto this year, comfortably sitting atop Serie A with an 8 point cushion and a GD of 24. Napoli head in to this fixture with Udinese on the back of a ten match winning streak, scoring 24 goals along the way, an average of 2.4 goals per match. Napoli have conceded just 7 goals in their last 10 matches. Napoli are unbeaten this campaign and are odds on to continue that streak today with striker Victor Osimhen 10/11 to score. Osimhen has 8 goals and two assists this campaign and could add to that tally today.

However, Udinese have only lost two this season and concede an average of 1.14 goals away from home. Udinese could keep Napoli at bay and make this a low scoring affair.

I'd back a Napoli win or for longer odds, I'd go with under 2.5 goals. For Napoli win/U2.5 odds are around 3/1.

For a double your money accumulator, Arsenal, Napoli and Bayern all to win comes at over 6/4.

Good luck and let's hope the hotpicks can get us a winner this week for these excellent stats
