The Guest Tipster: 2nd Jul
We have another guest here for you on The Cheeky Punts and this week we have the thoughts from Burlington Bertie (@TheRacingPage)
Let’s check out his thoughts for the day
1:50 Sandown
Baffled at the 11/2 for EQUILATERAL in the first at sandown tomorrow. I know he’s 7, but I thought that was a huge run in the Kings Stand on his reappearance where with the exception of the Aussie horse he’s got within a length of the second Twilight Falls and is a proven proper group 1 horse
Mitbaahy could be anything and the Varian yard are on fire (think the RP says 34% in last 14 days) but it’s a big step up from Listed to Group 1 albeit he gets a handy 5lb off EQUILATERAL
Still, at double the price as an each way bet to nothing or insure bet 3 places around 7/2 he’s the bet for me
2:25 Sandown
Sinjaari ran an almighty race in the Royal Hunt Cup behind Dark Shift when travelling like a dream and had he been granted a better draw that day may well have found himself in a better place to challenge
The value could be CHECKANDCHALLENGE who could bounce back to form after finding the 2000 Guineas a bridge too far albeit he never really settled and was met with interference when making his way through the field, unlikely to have been placed but may have ran into 7th or 8th
His win in the Burradon at Newcastle in April saw him beat Dubai Poet who was only just over a length 3rd behind Noble Truth at Royal Ascot and Imperial Fighter who was 3rd in the Irish 2000 Guineas
3:00 Sandown
I love Heredia and she’s the one to beat but through a line of form with Fonteyn and Crenelle I’m going to side with Crenelle’s stablemate GRANDE DAME to give us a run for our money around 4s
3:35 Sandown
Vadeni could hardly have been more impressive in the French Derby and Native Trail may well appreciate the step up to this distance so I find it hard to split the 2.
MISHRIFF thrashed Alenquer and Love in the Juddmonte last year and though has disappointed in his last 2 starts 9/1 is an absolute insult to the highest rated horse in the field. The likeliest winner? Debatable, the best value? Absolutely.
