CHELTENHAM Saturday 28th January write ups 🚨
It’s been a while since I had time to post a full Saturday cards tips/write ups but here we go… some interesting bets on what will be a tough day to find winners I’d say! Go steady if following or just watch for fun! Two of these I’ve felt strong enough to point as official bets for TAK RACING PREMIUM GROUP so fingers crossed!! 🤞

11.40… I was really impressed with SCRIPTWRITERS Triumph Hurdle trial win here back in November and I don’t think I can desert him today. Yes it’s a very strong trial and the selection has to carry more weight than a couple of his market rivals but with course form I’m happy to side with the Milton Harris runner.
12.10… it’s interesting that they’ve decided to go into a handicap for STAGE STAR when they could be staying in Novice company. Top rated in the race with a mark of 142 so carries top weight but looks a horse with graded potential after winning last seasons Challow Hurdle. Plenty of dangers in this race but I think it’s worth siding with quality here.
12.40… DIESEL D’ALLIER has taken on the cross country course 3 times and come 4th/16, 1st/15 and 3rd/13. We’ve backed him in all those runs and I’ve no reason to look elsewhere here. Some much more notable runners in the race such as last seasons X-Country festival winner Delta Work but I’d expect him to be here just as a prep for March. I’m happy betting ours each way at around 10/1 and 4 places.
1.20… no bet but I’d like to see ENERGUMENE win
1.50… this is one of my stronger fancies today in the Paddy Power handicap chase. PHOENIX WAY was probably lined up to try and win the race at Ascot that he won last year but the weather put pay to that. So they’ve taken a chance and arrived here. He’s 2lb higher now than his win last year but I have reason to think this lightly raced 10 year old can win again. His ‘prep’ run at Chepstow 4 weeks ago when coming 4th behind todays race favourite FUGITIF was a solid enough display where he’s been held up way off the pace, jumped and travelled well and ran on into 4th without any real exertion from jockey Kevin Brogan. He finished 12 lengths behind the winner but is 12lbs better off today for that run and 16/1 and 5 places was far too big imo.
2.25… Id like to see PROTEKTORAT win here and strengthen his credentials for the Gold Cup here in March.
3.00… another boring selection but PAISLEY PARK I simply cannot bet against these days as he just keeps on surprising everyone! Hopefully he can win and set up a cracking renewal of the Stayers here in March.
3.35… the Skelton team have got a well fancied favourite here in Pembroke but I’m going to take him on with an each way play in CRUZ CONTROL for the Tom Lacey yard. A few horses stepping up in trip today but I don’t have any concerns in the selections stamina and it looks like the team think he could be a Ballymore horse in March. Won his maiden on hurdles debut at Newcastle over 2m 1f very easily and he’s open to any amount of progression. 9/1 and 4 places is the ew play here.
4.10… this really is a tricky handicap hurdle to finish the day so I’m going to be cautious and back HACKER DES PLACES each at 11/2. Trainer Paul Nicholls has got useful conditional jockey Angus Cheleda on board again (he’s been on all 3 British wins) and takes off 5lb for his claim. Good to soft ground is fine and I’d expect him to be fighting out the finish with a couple ahead of him in the market.

Our fully developed site is ready to go so there is no setup from you required, you will simply become a member of our team as a contributor and have a daily post which you will be able to update with your own daily punts which will then be visible for everyone to see online.
Our site is 100% free with no sign up required so to view your tips, people will simply need to go to our website. We will also create a custom link for you which you can then share on your own social media channels
Why are we doing this I hear you ask, the answer is actually a simple one. We have a fully functioning website but little content through the week. This means the weekly traffic is very low but it costs us the same regardless. We do also benefit, to be totally open & transparent, as this will help drive more traffic to the site for when we do all our weekend features too (which you would also be invited to join)
