The Guest Tipster: 26th Feb

This weekend we have a returning guest of ours, Tic Tac Racing (@RacingTicTac on Twitter) with some nice priced picks for us from across the board. Can he have another day of winners for us?

Lets have a look at what he fancies for the day

13.30 Lingfield

TONE THE BARONE - 10/3 bet365 bog

Stuart Williams won this race with Royal Birth in 2017 who then finished runner up in 2019 and 2020 so clearly this is a race they like to target. Tone has been given a 7 week break to freshen up and seems best when fresh. LTO he finished third to Strong Power over CnD in a race that broke the track record. This one was 2 lengths off but carried 9st7 and the 2 in front only carried 8st2, they are off level weights today. I reckon this looks a winnable opportunity providing the break has had the desired effect and Ghiani is only here for the one ride.

15.10 Lingfield

SOLDIERS MINUTE - 11/2 Bet365 bog

Solid yardstick over this C&D who is running off 104 but more than capable of winning. He ran LTO in a listed race and was only beaten 1.25 lengths. He also won a hot conditions event on Boxing Day at Wolves and it's also worth noting that win came in small field with 6 runners. This race can be deemed a lot easier even with the weight concession. The time before that he was beaten in a handicap off 1lb higher behind Marks Bear but that can be excused as a tad unlucky. He is versatile regarding running style and this small field could suit. He looks more than capable of giving chunks of weight away and could be the value call in this. There are a couple of question marks that are evident for the others and I would be confident this one could bounce out and stretch these.

15.15 Newcastle

JUST YOUR TYPE - 12/1 EW 5 places bet365 bog

Thorough stayer who was 6th in this race in 2019. He hasn’t been in the race since but has ran with credit including this season and LTO when showing plenty of zest in the Surrey national before unseating. He now runs off 125, a career low chase mark and 3lb below his last winning mark. The 6th in that race was off 9lb higher. The yard have been getting some winners recently and despite this one falling short on a couple of trends, I would favour a runner over this marathon trip carrying only 10st7 again with the insurance of 5 places on offer.

15.37 Kempton

FIVE STAR GETAWAY - 15/2 5 places PP

Christian Williams is 3 at the race and this one catches my eye as a well handicapped horse judged on his win over C&D in December beating both his stablemates who re-oppose today. The second and third have since won from that race and this one is lightly raced and unexposed being only 4lb higher than for that. Ran well to be third LTO at Sandown off this mark and can be thereabouts imo. I appreciate he falls short of a couple of trends in this race but has an ideal racing weight 10st10 and can go well with the insurance of 5 places on offer.

5.00 Kempton

FRERE D’ARMES - 8/1 EW bet365 bog

Interesting one for the Skeltons here who had the runner up in this year with Calico who came straight in off a novice hurdle win. This one has won twice in novices albeit in weak enough races but he has done it easily and is worth considering with him aimed here. On his hurdle debut he finished 2nd to Balco Coastal who did have a penalty but had the prior experience, that one has since finished close up 2nd in a grade 2. At the prices I would like to take the chance that Skelton wouldn’t put him in here without a chance and he could be anything.
