The Guest Tipster: 23rd Apr

This week we have another new guest tipster joining us here on The Cheeky Punts with NewSheriffInTown Tipping.

You can follow our new man on Twitter at @NSIT_Tipster and on OLBG here

Let’s take a look at what he fancies for this weekend

SANDOWN 1.50 BOOMBAWN (10/1) 1PT EW - is likely to go off at a decent price, many punters will think 2 recent odds on victories won't be worth much and look elsewhere. However. the victory at Southwell to Parliament Hill has been boosted by that horse winning since - Boombawn won that day by 10+ lengths. Raced with credit when chasing the likes of Jonbon and Silent Revolution home to finish 3rd at Newbury on 2 occasions - this race is an easier assignment than those races. Good ground forecasted is a positive, as is the opening handicap mark which sees him near the bottom of the weights with Jack Andrews taking off a further 5lb. Dan Skelton has saddled 4 winners from his last 9 runners. SANDOWN 3.32 POTTERMAN (12/1) 1PT EW - Won this race in controversial circumstances last year - that was sole visit to this track thus far. Raced predominantly on good ground so current forecasted conditions are very promising. Tom Cannon booking is a positive, he's on a 22% win strike rate with 6 wins from last 29 runs. He has saddled Potterman to his last 3 victories. This would cap off what has been a magnificent jumps campaign for Alan King LEICESTER 3.51 EHTEYAT (12/1) 0.5PT EW - bit of a speculative selection for this one, however Sir Michael Stout last few runners have returned finishes of 4-1-4-4-1-2 so the yard's form ticks the boxes. As does his strike rate at this track the past 5 years - an impressive 31%. HAYDOCK 2.05 OH THIS IS US (16/1) 1PT EW - will have to roll back the years to land the spoils in this race but I'm willing to back him at big odds for each way purposes. Course form reads 1st and 2nd, the going was on good and good to firm which is likely to be the going again. The long straight at Haydock can catch horses out that commit too long from home. This horse is versatile and proven stamina which could bode well if some of the younger horses in this race tire near the finish. Tom Marquand has hit form recently with 2 wins, 2 x 2nd and 3 x 3rds from last 8 races. LIMERICK 2.50 INDIAN LILAC (20/1) 1PT EW - won after a break 11 months ago in a 20 runner field over this trip at Leopardstown. Lost his way after that but has now changed hands and is hopefully ready to go again after a similar break to which yielded the previous success. Is weighted 8lb lower than that for this race and claimer takes off a further 7lb. If this horse can find the spark from 11 months ago, he is well priced for a big return. NAVAN 5.21 VISCHIO (10/1) 1PT WIN (NAP) - been massively consistent. form figures ready 1-4-1-2-1, all bar most recent was over hurdles but showed versatility when winning on the flat at 1m6f at Gowran Park. Jockey is retained for this ride. Form is boosted by Lariat who was 4th in that race going on to win at Bellewstown earlier this week. Small stable who's trainer saddled a 20/1 2nd at Cork on Monday. Despite being raised 8lb for recent success, still gets weight off the majority of the field and has scope to improve further.

Good luck if you follow & let’s hope we have another winning guest here on The Cheeky Punts
