The FA Cup: 5th Feb

Updated: Feb 4, 2022

It's FA Cup day so we've got our bets picks of the round for you here on The Cheeky Punts

The FA Cup is great from a fans view but is generally a bit of a minefield from a betting perspective. We all love the magic of the cup but not when someone gets beat at short odds to kill the acca (remember Newcastle in the last round!)

So we have a decent looking 4fold acca as we have looked for the best value. There is no point picking the likes of Man City at 1/9!

First up we are going for the new manager boost as Frank Lampard takes charge of his first game for Everton. There will be a lot of expectation from the home fans so I suspect Lampard will go with a fairly strong side. Brentford will surely take premiership survival over the cup so even money for the home side looks the value bet here

Huddersfield are the second pick as they take on struggling Barnsley. The away side could spring a shock here but they look very short on confidence so could find this tough even if Huddersfield do decide to rest a few

The shortest one of the day I’m putting up is Southampton who should still have enough at home to Coventry. The saints are probably due a decent cup run and as they look safe in the league, they should take this chance to progress to the next round

And last up I’m going for Wolves who are a very solid team and take on a Norwich side fighting for their lives in the league. I expect Norwich to maybe rest a few for this one with a big home game coming up midweek. Wolves could well be a dark horse so I think they’ll take this one and, with a bit of luck in the draws, they could go quite far this season

Good luck and let’s hope we hit some of that FA Cup magic this weekend
