After the the thrills of Cheltenham for the National Hunt fans we have some top quality flat action this weekend coming over in the desert with the Dubai World Cup meeting
With some big prize money on offer we'll see some of the best of the best when it comes to the international flat performers concluding with the World Cup it self all from the Meydan track. The winner of that has a huge prize in store so expect a strong attack from all the biggest & best across the globe!
Our picks for the day
I'm starting our selections with an each way shot in the 1.15pm where San Donato may have a shot at the extra places on offer. He's had a few runs here already including a second LTO which was also over 7f and he could well drop in to finish late, as he did then from a wide draw
At 2.25pm I like the look here of the Goldolphin owned, Japanese trained Lemon Pop. The Japanese raiders have really excelled in recent years & in my view are a force to be reckoned with. He'll have to fight off the expected US challenges but he could be a very smart one
And in the big one of the day, I'm going for another Japanese raider with a sprinkle of home as Oisin Murphy takes the mount on T O Keynes.
He's a tripple G1 winner & the booking of Murphy could prove a smart one, what a comeback story it would be for him to lift that cup here and I certainly wouldn't rule it out. He's got a decent draw and in a super competitive race, he looks to have the speed although will need to improve a bit on last years Saudi Cup effort against a few who reoppose today
Good luck & not long now for the flat lovers back in the UK until we see some of our own top flat action
