#OddsKnows Racing Preview: 8th Oct

Updated: Oct 8, 2022

As usual we have our weekend preview with action this week coming from Newmarket and York and we've got jumps action from Chepstow and Hexham. The evening meeting coming under the lights is on the all weather at Chelmsford

Our man #OddsKnows takes a look at the best of all the action today here for you on The Cheeky Punts plus don't forget to check out the #OddsKnows Nap which you can find here as well as the latest across all our racing pages

We start as ever with the money back race from Skybet and its hard to see past the favourite here with Flying Honours odds on for the Godolphin team. It could well kick off a very good day for jockey William Buick who has looks to have a very solid days bookings. Looking for the alternative though, the Andrew Balding runner Galactic Jack could be worth a cheeky punt. He won on his 2nd run LTO over todays trip and could be the chief danger to the fav

Sticking with Newmarket and in the 2.25pm and we have a really competitive looking affair here with a few looking to have a big chance including Frankie Dettori on Epictetus and the Karl Burke trained Holloway Boy. I'm going to side though with that man again, Will Buick and the Godolphin runner Silver Knott. He lost when an odds on shot LTO but I'd put a bit of a line through that and I think the step up to a mile here will suit on better ground.

The 4.15pm is another trappy looking race and Buick has the fav here but this time I'm going to take him on with In These Shoes. She won a tad easily LTO and looks to be on a good upward curve so could go well again here at a decent looking price. Her handicap mark here may be a touch generous so hopefully she can take advantage under top jock Andrea Atzeni.

Last up of my picks for Newmarket and I'm back with my man Buick as he takes the ride here for the in form Crisford team. Another Romance was just touched off going down by a head LTO but she finished strongly that day under Paul Hanagan. With the champ onboard today he looks good value for an each way punt with Chil Chil and Gale Force Maya looking major players at the top of the market

Over to York next and in the opener and I'm going to go with the each way play here on Pol Roger who comes in to this with a couple of wins already to his name. This does represent a step up in class but he's showed enough to suggest he could go well here

The Rockingham is at 2.05pm and I like the Irish raider here Bay of Plenty. He won on his debut at Naas so the lack of experience may be an issue but the Murtagh team will be well prepped for this and should fancy their chances here.

Another juvenile having only his 2nd race course run in the 3.50pm is Feud and I do like the look of this Dubawi colt for trainer Ralph Beckett. A mile should suit him and if he can settle in well, he could be a major player here

Good Luck whatever you are backing and don't forget you can follow me
