#OddsKnows Racing Preview: 7th May
With an extra day of group action this bumper bank holiday weekend our man #OddsKnows takes a look at the best of all the action for you on The Cheeky Punts plus don't forget to check out the latest across all our racing pagesĀ for the day
I'm focusing solely on Newmarket for the day & you can see who I've also gone for on our placepot for the day here
In the main event of the day, the 1000 Guineas, I've landed on Remarquee who is 2/2 having won the Fred Darling pretty cosily. The step up to a mile here shouldn't be an issue and the ground holds no fears given that recent win.
The big danger tho is the Irish raider Tahiyra for Dermot Weld. She is already a G1 winner in her native Ireland and was mighty impressive in doing so. She could be the superstar in the making and is certainly the one I'd fear most
My Nap of the day though is going to Running Lion in the 2.25pm. She's been winning on the all weather where she's 3/3 so is very much the form horse & the Gosdens have a pretty good record here. Oisin Murphy gets the leg up and there could be a lot more to come from the pair this season
The Next Best is With the Monnlight at 3pm. The Godolphin filly has been running on the international stage at Meydan & over in the US so there maybe a bit of question mark over the softer ground here but she did win at Newmarket this time last year & should be right up there for the ever impressive Appleby & Buick combo
And my IWAC goes to HMS Seahorse who looks a good each way chance in the 1.50pm. He was consistent last season with a few solid 2nds and followed that up with another 2nd LTO having switched to the Alan King yard. At a bigger price Solent Gateway could be in the mix for place money & could be worth a cheeky punt with the extra place market
