#OddsKnows Racing Preview: 29th Oct

Updated: Oct 29, 2022

As usual we have our weekend preview with action this week coming from Newmarket and the National Hunt cards from Ascot, Wetherby and Ayr. The evening meeting coming under the lights on the all weather comes this Saturday from Wolverhampton

Our man #OddsKnows takes a look at the best of all the action today here for you on The Cheeky Punts plus don't forget to check out the #OddsKnows Nap which you can find here as well as the latest across all our racing pages

We start as usual with the money back race on Skybet at 2.05pm and I do like Anyharminasking here. He won two handicaps as easy as you like but more eye catching was a PTP win beating Consitution Hill! He could be a really exciting prospect and should handle this step up in grade here to confirm some of that promise

Off to Wetherby next and a really interesting looing staying hurdle race where Sporting John has a bit to prove and has been off the track since January and we have live chances in last years winner Indefatigable and Threeunderthrufive who is 9 from 13 under rules. My selection though is Proschema who was 2nd in this last year and has the benefit of a recent pipe opener at Chepstow earlier this month. I suspect trainer Dan Skelton has targeted this race today and the yard comes in to it in decent form. He should have our charge laid out and race ready so I think 4/1 looks well worth a cheeky punt

Back to Ascot and I like the look here of Our Power in another pretty competitive looking race. He showed enough last season to suggest he could be a smart chaser and may well be on a decent mark here and be capable of picking up a biggish race like this today. A total of 13 go to post here and there are some seasoned campaigners who may well be in the mix but our charge under Charlie Deutsch, who was fantastic last season, can confirm the promise at a decent price for us

Ayr

Up at Ayr and I like a couple of runners for the deadly duo of Brian Hughes and Donald McCain starting with Collingham in the 3.43pm. The pair are then back in the next at 4.18pm and a chaser I've backed a few times before in Mackenberg. He's been off a while but was unbeaten in 3 over fences last season and with the yard in decent form and the champ in the saddle, it could cap a good day for Brian Hughes on what looks a good day of rides for him

Good Luck whatever you are backing and don't forget you can follow me
