As usual we have our weekend preview first up with the action coming from Cheltenham, Doncaster & Uttoxeter plus the all weather action from Lingfield and then Kempton under the lights
Our man #OddsKnows takes a look at the best of all the action for you on The Cheeky Punts plus don't forget to check out the #OddsKnows Nap which you can find here as well as the latest across all our racing pages.
We start as ever with the Skybet Money Back race and leading two Gold Cup fancies go head to head here with Protektorat the favourite here today. I think he has a very solid chance and I certainly wouldn't put anyone off backing him but at the prices I am going to go here with Noble Yeats. Last years Grand National winner looked as good as ever when winning back at Aintree in December and showed a devastating turn of foot that day. He looks a top prospect and the only real question mark I can put on him here is how he handles Cheltenham. If he takes to it though he could take all the beating and put himself firmly in contention for the big one back here in a few weeks time
It's an early start today as well as we have 9 races on the card at Cheltenham and I think we could kick off the day in the opener with Scriptwriter. It's an intriguing contest this one as we have a number of top juveniles in the mix but our charge has already won round here despite having just two starts over hurdles (also winning a maiden at Sedgefield)
In the 12.10pm its a horse I've followed a bit in Unexpected Party and at 17/2 there is possibly a bit of each way value too. The Skeltons have been in pretty good form of late and this talented 8YO looks to have a live chance here on his handicap chase debut
Another favourite of mine runs in the 1.50pm and Il Ridoto has become a bit of a cliff horse for me, and I've put him up at least once (possibly twice!) as my NAP in the past. This is far from an easy one to pick up a win here and I am tempted for a small cover on the each way, with 6 places on offer, but he has undoubted talent and I'm still convinced he has a big win in him.
For the 3pm I may upset a few people as I'm going to go against the extremely likable Paisley Park. He is an absolute superstar and has given connections some thrilling days but I think today maybe just one to far for the 11YO. If I'm wrong, I won't be too upset to see him win but I think the value play here is Dashel Drasher. The 3m may be the risk as he's not typically gone that far over hurdles or fences but I think he could potentially step up here and lay down a bit of a marker
At bigger prices for the day my two each way shots, on the extra place races, come in the 1.5pm (again) with Precious Eleanor and Takeit Easy in the last at 4.10pm. Both have sound each way chances for those wanting to look outside the market principles for the day
And finally we do also have racing from Doncaster and Uttoxeter as the NH gets back in to full flow so my 'best of the rest' for the day are;
12.55D - Gilbertina @ 3/1
1.57U - Fortunes Melody @ 9/4
3.07U - Gold Emery @ 9/2
3.50D - Taste the Fear @ 15/2
Good Luck whatever you are backing and don't forget you can follow me
